Hi! I know, I know, I’m a blog slacker, but can ya blame me, it’s summer! We’ve been keeping busy here between going to the Kananaskis for 4 days, then home to finish off school, then to the lake to see Chrystal, Dave and the kids, and then we headed south to Brooks for 4 days, then it was back home last Tuesday and we’ve just been doin’ fun stuff around here since then. Now for the rest of the month we’ve got my birthday, then the girls and I are headed up to stay with Chrystal and Dave and the kids for a week while she “hopefully” has baby. After that I’ll get home with enough time to pack and clean house then it’s down south again for Darrens Grandma’s 80th birthday bash after which we might have a free week or two to do some camping and what not then it’s back south AGAIN for my Grandma’s 90th birthday bash then back home and time to send the girls to school! Yikes! In the middle of all that I’ve got to do some school shopping and what not too… fun times. So in the meantime I’ll just share some photos from our last month of fun. Enjoy…
Lets start with Madde loosing her first tooth in June at Grandma and Grandpa V’s house.

And here is Madde with her award in school, she got honors in 4 classes! way to go!!

Followed by Phoebe, she decided that there were more uses for sidewalk chalk…

Onto our Brooks trip. We headed south and went camping with Sharie and the family at Lake Newel for a few days. It was a lot of fun, swimming, boating, tubing, the whole bit.

Here’s the girls playing at camp with Lane watching.

And here we have Owen enjoying a ride on the boat.

Here they go,

There they go! ha ha!!

haha

We had a blast there hanging out with the Suchy crew. We even managed to get Madde on the tube with me, and Darren and I had a turn as well. It was Darren’s first time ever on a tube being pulled by a boat! And to top it off we even got miss scaredy pants Phoebe to jump in the water out in the middle of the lake! wow, she jumped in with aunty Sharie. We ended up staying right to Canada day and having a pancake breakfast there before we headed home.
So that’s it for now, I think that catches us up to today more or less. I’ll try and keep things a bit more updated from now on.
Hope everyone’s having a great summer!

Been havin’ fun!

It’s been a bit since I’ve updated this blog. I guess I find it hard posting more than just pictures. Alot’s been happening lately. For starters May long was a blast. We last minute decided to head down to my parents place to visit. THen we dropped off the girls there and Darren and I headed south on his motorbike. We went down to Kalispell and spent a night, did some shopping, and had some “alone” time :) Then we made our way back home up through BC and around. It was a lot of fun and really nice to get away just the two of us. We got back to my parents place on the Sunday and spent some more time visiting with my sis and her family.
The 27th was Phoebe’s 5th birthday. I am still having a hard time comming to grips with the fact that my BABY is 5! That’s just crazy! We’ve got her registered to go to kindergarten in the fall and she is totally stoked about it. Grandma V. came and spent Phoebe’s birthday with us during the week and then the 31st we threw a little party for her. I was so excited that my Mom and Dad and my sis and her family were able to come to that. I know Phoebe loved having her cousins and Grandma and Grandpa A. there too.
For pictures from both May long and Phoebe’s birthday go HERE. I started up a photoblog so that I am not constantly uploading pics to a bunch of different places.
More news. Darren finally had enough with working for Dodge. Well, not so much dodge, more so his boss, so he made a change of atmosphere. A rather big change. No more deisel trucks :) June 2nd he started work at Honda. So far so good. It’s a MUCH bigger dealership, it’s HUGE and it is way more professional! I’m really excited for him because he’s always wanted to get more into the technology end of things and the hybrids and now he will be right in there.
SO there you have it. Other than that Darren and I are (im)paceintly waiting for our next bike trip to come. We’ve got plans to drop the girls off with Grandma V. in a couple weeks so we can hop on the motorbike and cruise on over to Jasper with some friends of ours to spend a night at the Meite (sp?)hotsprings. I can’t wait! So that’s it from us. Be sure to check out the Photoblog even if I havn’t updated here. There’s a good chance that I’ll post more photos before I post here. :) Chow!

As promised I said I’d share pics of all the snow we ended up getting on Thursday, so here are a couple for ya…

And shocking, here are some photos from Friday evening and Saturday morning. Do you see any snow?? Crazy weather hey?!

And just so you all have a visual from my post the other day. Here is the little trailer, that Al gave us, hooked upto the trike. This pic is from yesterday. For most of the day I was pampered and treated so great and then to top of a wonderful mothers day we took the girls in the trailer and went for a jaunt through the forest and around. It was a lot of fun. I sure hope all you wonderful mothers had an amazing mothers day!

ttfn!

You know, the only thing WORSE than a snow storm in April… is a snow storm in MAY!!!!! AHHH! I was supposed to go for a haircut today, but it’s an hour away and there is no chance of me driving in this crap! When I took this picture this morning at 8 we had all of maybe an inch of snow, but now at 10:30 when I’m posting this we have almost 5 inches!! and it’s STILL coming down like crazy! what’s with mother nature this year, I seriously think she’s on some wacky drugs!! Hopefully at least this weekend is supposed to be nice, like 19 degrees nice, so I’m really, really looking forward to that. Unfortunately the earliest I can reschedule my hair appointment is NEXT Thursday, and I need it BAD.. anyhow, that’s a whole other story, so here’s my pic of the day…

If it keeps coming down the way it is I’ll post another picture later. Chow!

you’d never guess

you’d never guess that I was a scrapbooker or wanna be photographer with a fancy dancy camera. Reason being I never remember to take the stinkin thing out. Needless to say there are no photos to go with this post.

Yesterday both the girls started t-ball and soccer. And they did so great! Madison was kickin’ butt at soccer, she scored her teams only two goals! Phoebe was doing well too but was more focused on sticking close to Madde than actually kicking the ball lol. It didn’t help either that as soon as we got to the field Phoebe laid down on the grass and broke out in wicked hives EVERYWHERE, poor kid, she gets her allergies from her dad. T-ball was a big hit for both of the girls. Once they caught the concept of dropping the bat and running after you hit the ball it was all good. All in all it was a lot of fun and I know they’re looking forward to it again next week, hopefully I’ll remember my camera next time.

On the weekend Darrens dad came down to visit. He brought us a little red honda trailer to pull behind the trike, so that’s exactly what we did. On Sunday we hooked up the trailer to the trike and the girls and I hopped into it while Darren took us all for a ride around the country. Along the way he just happened to find a few HUGE mud holes to drag us through and covered us in mud from head to toe. Madde said we all looked like little dalmatian dogs, which we totally did. So we decided to head back to the house and try and build a little cover for the trailer. We used some old road signs that Al gave us and we sewed them together with rope to make some walls and a roof for the little trailer and then we decided we’d see how well they worked so Darren drug us through the mud holes again. The little cover worked GREAT! The cover and the trailer were completely covered in mud and the girls and I were not. It was sure a lot of fun and a great way to spend a beautiful Sunday together. I can’t wait to do it again, funny how something like that sure brings out the big kid in you. And, yet again, I have no pictures of the event to share but I’ll try and grab some next time.

For those of you aka Julie, lol, that are waiting for the news we were going to share, well, you’re going to have to just wait a little bit longer. Don’t worry though, it’s nothing big like winning the lottery it’s just exciting to us and we want to share but not just yet :)   So keep checkin back. TTFN!

Eventful weekend

What a fun, eventful weekend, and a warm one too! Friday night Darren and I went out with some friends from work to see a comedian and go for dinner and drinks. We had a really great time. The comedian was hilarious!! We didn’t realize til we got there that he was in the last Seinfeild episode, the fat guy getting car jacked when nobody would help him. His name’s John Pinette.

His stand up act left my jaw sore and my makeup running he was so funny! If he’s ever in your area, let me just say his show is worth the heavy ticket price for sure! Anyhow, after the show we went to a local bar/pub and had some drinks, danced a bit and came home. Saturday we headed into Calgary for Alyssa’s 1st birthday, (Ken and Kendras little girl). It was really nice to see so much family. We didn’t take advantage of any Calgary shopping we just headed home afterwards. Sunday was so beautiful! We spend the entire day outside playing. Darren did some shooting and more gopher hunting and the girls and I did some sunbathing and played catch, warming up for when t-ball starts. We celebrated Darrens birthday Sunday even though his actual birthday was Saturday. We had bbq rib-eyes, shrimp, salads etc etc.. followed by a dq blizzard cake, YUM! All in all it was a great weekend. And now that it’s finally feeling like spring we will be enjoying EVERY weekend. So there you have it, just a quick update on what we’ve been doing. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too. ttfn!

5 years ago today….

5 years ago today Darren and I stood in my parents yard in front of a hundred or so people and said our vows. And today, 5 years later I still love him more than ever! That’s right, today is our anniversary. We don’t really have any big plans. We’re going to celebrate our anniversary and Darren’s birthday (the 26th) next Friday. We’re going into the city with some friends to the Keg for dinner and drinks and to a comedy thing. It should be fun. Today however I’m just catching up on housework. Darren had to work and then this evening we’re going to head on down to the neighbors for a poker game. We decided not to go all out and spoil each other this year, I was actually NOT expecting anything from Darren due to the fact that we’ve gotten pretty spoiled over the last couple months but last night he came home with these…

I was totally shocked and happy, they are so beautiful IRL and contain some of my FAVORITE flowers!! He also brought home these from Lynn and Al for both of us…

Thank you so much Lynn and Al, they are beautiful! :) And thank you again for all the other wonderful goodies! Now here is something that I’m NOT too impressed with…

who ordered this crap!?! Last weekend it was +24 and now this! -10 and it’s been snowing since yesterday morning around 7!! I really, really, really want it to be summer! I can tell you that this is NOT what it looked like on our wedding day 5 years ago… ugh! Anyhow, that’s pretty much it for today. I’m off now to go and fold some laundry and play a board game with my two favorite little girls! TTFN!

lots to share

Wow, it’s been a while since I last posted on here. Actually it’s been a while since I last posted on any of my blogs… now it’s time to do a little updating. Well since my last post we have picked up Darrens bike. He loves it, and I’m totally happy for him. Today we dropped the kids off at the neighbors and we took the bike into town to rent a movie and just go for a cruise, it was real nice. So here are a couple pics of the “actual bike” as promised…

Also, today was so beautiful we could not stay inside. So we took the girls and headed for a walk over the hills to go gopher hunting. It was a little slow, not to many gophers around here, nothing like down south. So we all sat and watched for any movement we could see. In the end, after I don’t know how long we sat Darren shot 1, yes 1 gopher! But the fun part was just going, and hanging out together. When we got back to the house we had a little pic nic and relaxed in the 23 degree sun.

Oh and gopher hunting was not a total loss, Phoebe came home with a beautiful collection of sticks and dried up weeds lol… doesn’t she look happy.

Other than that we have just been happily busy here doing every day things. Madde is doing fantastic in school and at the same time is really looking forward to summer. Phoebe is having fun helping me out around the house and going shopping. She is really looking forward to the fall when she starts school, and secretivly so is mom hee hee. I signed both girls up for soccer and t-ball which starts the begining of May. That should be a lot of fun. Darren and I have made plans for this summer to head down south on the bike for a few days for a little get away in the states, I’m totally looking forward to that. Oh yeah, and this weekend I had my very first Stampin up workshop. It was a huge success. I had a great time and made a big sale for my first time. I also met a couple more moms my age and one of them is booking another show. :) As well we may have some new news coming up in the next month or so, but I’m not even give any hints until we know more so you’ll just have to keep coming back to my blog lol. Anyhow, I’m pretty much just rambling on now and I’m really tiered and I see Darren napping on the couch so I think that’s where I’m headed. Until next time… toodles!

Been shopping

What a fun and expensive last couple of days we’ve had here lol. We’ve spent the majority of it shopping, and I don’t mean for the usual food and clothes, oh no, I mean on fun exciting stuff…. I for instance finally purchase myself a laptop, something I’ve wanted for quite sometime now and LAHOVE too btw! I’m a bit rough around the edges with Vista but I’m lovin’ learning all the new stuff… and well… Darren made a big purchase today too… he’s been wanting a motorbike for quite some time now, and he actually bought a 1985 Honda shadow 1100 the other day. However it was a total dud and lucky for us his boss loved it and bought it from him the SAME day he bought it lol, whew! So today we went into the local Yamaha dealer and took the plunge. We figured that there was no point in playing around with someones used junk, Darren deserved new, so that’s what he got…. This bike right here… same color and all….

Along with it we picked him up a real nice new leather jacket and some new boots. Pretty darn tootin’ shanazy hey lol… he should be picking it up in the next couple weeks, and when he does I’ll be sure to post more pics of his new toy.

So there you have it, that’s what’s new in our little lives. I thought I’d mention to for those of you that do read my blog. I don’t know if you noticed that I added yet another blog to my list on the side, I started up a photography blog.. nothing too extravagant, just a place to post my pics I’ve been taking as I learn to use my new camera. So feel free to pop on over there and be sure to say hi if you do… so, until next time.. chow!
